While we have a recommended way of playing (see below!), there really isn't a right way to play. The whole goal is to get people talking and playing music. In our friend group, we've started with one question that could last thirty minutes while we let the conversation carry things on, and then eventually come back to the next question. You could even play this game while playing another game! Be bold—make up your own rules.

How to play (loosely recommended)

1. Grab a device (e.g., phone, tablet) to play music.

2. One player draws a card at random and reads it aloud.

3. The player who reads the card selects the first song inspired by the card and starts a music queue.

4. The same player plays their song and shares why they chose it.

5. While the song is playing, other players add their song picks to the queue, each inspired by the same card.

6. When everyone has shared and is ready to move on, the next player draws a card and repeats steps 2-5.

Wild cards: Apply only to the player that drew them.

How to win: Play to connect, not to compete.

Yes and no. It's a game in that it's something fun to play with others, but there's no score keeping or winner (unless you consider adding cool songs to your own playlist a win). You could call this a conversation starter pack, but that doesn't really roll off the tongue as well as 'game' does. Also, we call this a game partially as a technicality, because all the paperwork, business and store setup, classifying this as a 'game' is much clearer. :)
